Torkelson Family arrives in Kenya
In the beginning of May, the Verlin and Bethany Torkelson family settled into Nakuru, Kenya. Verlin now serves as the regional director for East Africa. The Torkelson’s are from Alberta, Canada. First Group in Colombia
As of mid-May, one of our facilitators was able to get the first group started in our new Colombia program! The group consists of four ladies. We expect this group to be a big blessing to them and their families. Pray for the Colombia program, that the program could expand and positively impact many.

Updates From the Field – East Africa
The program in Kenya has spread across the border into Tanzania. Open Hands now has so many savings groups in Tanzania that we are planning to hire a Tanzanian field director early in 2017.
