SUPPORTING YOUR COMMUNITY

Our funding strategy relies on a combination of federal state and local government grants, private foundation grants, donations from community groups and local businesses, revenue from our Thrift Store operations, and direct contributions from individuals and families. It is thanks to the philanthropic assistance of our concerned friends in the community that Open Hands is able to provide the many programs and services currently offered. You, too, can make a difference by becoming a donor. There are several ways to give to Open Hands and all are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Here's a Sample of What Your Gift Can Provide

Adult Care Services

  • $500 Meals for all clients (breakfast, lunch & snack) for a week
  • $150 Underwriting a field trip or outing to a museum, mall or event
  • $ 50 Help support a client for one year with a monthly donation of this amount ($600 per year)

Community Outreach Services

  • $1,000 Constructing an accessibility ramp at a client's home
  • $ 100 A home-safety assessment and installation of grab bars to prevent falls
  • $ 50 A loan of medical equipment

Making a Donation to Support Our Programs & Services

  • General Donations

    • If you would like to support the programs & services of Open Hands, you can donate online now!

  • In Honor or Memory of a Loved One

    • Donate online or mail us a note indicating the person in whose honor or memory you are making your contribution. Open Hands will send an acknowledgement to the loved one (or their family) advising them of your thoughtful donation on their behalf.

  • In-Kind Donation to Our Thrift Store

    • Items donated to the Open Hands Thrift Store are resold and the proceeds help to support the
    programs and services of Open Hands. We accept donations Tuesday through Saturday
    from 10 am to 4 pm. We have pickup service for large furniture items or collections.

    We accept any item in good and resalable condition: small electrical items,
    clothing, furniture, dishes, art, knick-knacks, rugs, books, linens, toys, and more.
